Areas currently used for unmanaged parking will be closed. Parking will be available in areas lower down the road on both sides of the pass and, of course, uninterrupted in front of Erjavčeva koča at all times.
High in the Julian Alps, at the heart of Triglav National Park, lies a place where nature, adventure, and tradition come together — Erjavčeva Koča.
From now on, we can proudly say that there will be an established parking order in the parking lot in front of Erjavčeva koča, and violators will be appropriately fined.
This recommendation is not just a generic travel guide. It’s a heartfelt suggestion from us, the locals living on Vrišič, who have the privilege of experiencing the beauty of these mountains all year round.
In this area, especially around Vršič Pass, Soča River, and Kranjska Gora, Erjavčeva koča mountain hut is the only mountain hut open the whole year.
Slovenian mountain huts, or “planinske koče,” are not just shelters, but an integral part of the country’s alpine tradition. These huts, strategically located along popular trails and at crucial points within the alpine landscape, offer more than just a place to rest.
Positions are available starting this November or even sooner, so don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to live and work in one of Slovenia’s most stunning locations.
There are many ways to get on Vršič pass, and some options are already explained on our website. However, we are collecting them all together and explain in this post.
