Renovation Works on the Vršič Road in 2025

Renovation works will take place on the so-called Russian Road from May to October 2025 during the summer season, specifically on the section between Kranjska Gora and the top of the Vršič Pass.

Important Notice:

The road from Kranjska Gora to Erjavčeva koča mountain hut will remain open and accessible at all times, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey for you.

Please disregard misleading information on Google Maps that incorrectly indicates road closures – this is inaccurate. Access to Erjavčeva Koča is unhindered, and the road is completely passable.

Above Erjavčeva koča, road surface renovations and the construction of new parking areas are in full swing, keeping you updated on the progress toward the top of the pass.

Dear visitors of Triglav National Park

Due to the increasing number of vehicles being parked improperly, maintenance and regulation works have begun along the road from Kranjska Gora to the top of the Vršič Pass. These measures are intended to reduce illegal parking, encourage compliance with traffic regulations, and promote respectful behaviour towards the natural environment.

We ask that you be patient and responsible and follow all traffic rules. At the same time, we invite you to treat the park and its wildlife with kindness and respect. This includes refraining from littering, keeping noise levels down, and avoiding disturbing the animals in their natural habitat.

For those of us who live here and share our daily lives with nature, preserving its delicate balance is of the utmost importance. We believe that with your help, we can protect this precious area and ensure it remains pristine for future generations.
